....to some pictures and a little text in which we follow the activities of a barely competent gardener as he struggles to wrench back control of his patch from the forces of Mother Nature's feral twin sister.

Signs of green
There are actually green things pushing their way up in my garden. Maybe not everything is dead. These are daffodils.
It takes a true gardener to find beauty in the new shoots. Lovely image and good find. Here, I would be digging a couple of feet of snow, but I do know there are some little shoots down there, having appeared prior to the snow.
You commented on my last post for Esther's Garden Notes that there was little of green in your garden yet - and now you have your own green shards. Lovely photo.
I love looking for little those little green sprouts around the garden, it certainly gives us hope and helps us get through these last few weeks of winter!
I always find myself heaving a sigh of relief when I see bulbs pushing up through the earth, it means they didn't rot away. Love the light in your photo.
The emergence of life. Beautiful!

ReplyDeleteSo much anticipation in those green shoots ~ not spring by a long chalk yet but such promising signs that it's on the way :)
